The Manistee Friendship Society is a 501C3 non-profit organization in Manistee County. Since 2002, we have been a safe place for socialization, support, education and activities for adults living with various degrees of mental illness. All of our services are completely FREE of charge. No referral necessary. Simply give us a call or stop by to see if you qualify today!

Mental illness is to tough of a road to walk alone. If you or someone you know need some extra support in your recovery, don't be afraid to reach out. Come and meet others who have an understanding of what you are going through. You don't have to go through this alone.
Self-help groups or support groups, are groups of people who provide mutual support for each other. The members share a common problem, such as a mental illness or addiction. Their mutual goal is to help each other to deal with this problem. Through self-disclosure, members share their stories, stresses, feelings, issues, and recoveries. They learn that they are not alone; they are not the only ones facing the problem. This lessens the isolation that many people experience.
