Mental illness is to tough of a road to walk alone. If you or someone you know need some extra support in your recovery, don't be afraid to reach out. Come and meet others who have an understanding of what you are going through. You don't have to go through this alone.
Self-help groups or support groups, are groups of people who provide mutual support for each other. The members share a common problem, such as a mental illness or addiction. Their mutual goal is to help each other to deal with this problem. Through self-disclosure, members share their stories, stresses, feelings, issues, and recoveries. They learn that they are not alone; they are not the only ones facing the problem. This lessens the isolation that many people experience. Check out our calendar to see what groups we are currently offering at our center.
